CaRAR (Carceral Academy for Resilience and Reintegration)

Learning for Transformation and Lasting Change
Sustainable reintegration requires more than goodwill—it requires knowledge, skills, and a shared understanding among all stakeholders. CaRAR serves as AFIFA’s training and capacity-building arm.
The academy brings together families, community leaders, educators, local administrators, and justice actors to learn, unlearn, and collaborate around issues of incarceration and reintegration. It promotes resilience, restorative justice, and community-led solutions.
Through structured training programs, workshops, and dialogues, CaRAR equips stakeholders with the tools needed to support affected families effectively.
Key Focus Areas:
  • Training in mediation and restorative justice
  • Capacity-building for educators and local leaders
  • Paralegal and rights awareness training
  • Research, dialogue, and knowledge-sharing
Impact Vision:

Informed and empowered communities that actively support reintegration and justice for all.
